ABOUT THE DESIGN

Walking Liberty (obverse) – Between 1916 and 1947 the United States minted what is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful coin designs ever. This original Walking Liberty half-dollar silver coin was designed by Adolf A. Weinman, who was also the designer of the popular Mercury Dime. The current "American Silver Eagles" have the same design on their obverse. The Walking Liberty half-dollar value is currently about $walkinglibpage_1965halfdolprice, but the above Walking Liberty silver rounds are worth about $walkinglibpage_walkinglib100ozprice, because they are actually a full ounce of silver while the Walking Liberty half-dollar only contains 0.357 ounces of silver, after factoring out the copper.
Perched Eagle (reverse) – The perched eagle is a popular rendition placed on numerous United States Mint coins, beginning in 1795 and becoming more prevalent in the mid-1800's.

THE DESIGNER BEHIND THE IMAGE

Heidi Wastweet is internationally recognized as one of the foremost bas relief and coin designers. She began sculpting at the age 18 and has steadily refined her skills as a medallic sculptor of coins, medals and tokens as well as large-format bronze castings. She has served as an officer of the American Medallic Sculpture Association (AMSA) and has been featured in COINage and COIN WORLD Magazines.
